Mr.and Mrs.Mahi is a pretty well made movie. Excellent acting by Rajkumar Rao, very nuanced and shows a lot of maturity. The movie is about cricket and how a husband coached his wife to become a great cricketer. However the script is actually much beyond just cricket and has depicted a wide range of emotions in a subtle yet effective way. The characters are also very written- believable and relatable- right from the narcissistic father who constantly taunts his son and chips away at his self worth and confidence to a well meaning but spoilt daughter who actually has the audacity to call her doting husband selfish with no self awareness- all the characters and their backstory adds up well. It’s a good watch for both cricket fans and people that like emotional drama movies.
